People living with mental health diagnoses and providers of mental
health services will engage in a semi-structured dialogue on issues of
empowerment and disempowerment.
Building a Social Movement (Consumer/Survivors and Allies only)
3:30 - 5:00 at Quaker Space, 2nd Floor, 43 Center St., Northampton, MA
We will present and discuss the five principles of building a social
movement that were used in building the peer social movement in New York
state, which resulted in over 600 peer groups in New York. This peer
movement was very successful in gaining access to state funding. Issues
of cooptation and integrity will be discussed.
