Posted on Nov 15, 04
Lee Shuer and Sera Davidow of ServiceNet, with the encouragement and support of Freedom Center, have just formed the Staff Survivor Network to provide support for mental health staffpeople who are diagnosed with mental illness. Their first meeting flyer reads:
"Please join us for our first meeting: When: Thursday, November 18th, 2004 at 7pm Where: ServiceNet, 355 Bridge Street, Northampton. This meeting is open to mental health staff who have been diagnosed with a mental illness. (Meetings open to all staff are being organized, and will be available in the future.)"
"As mental health staff, we form the foundation of the system within which we work. And, those of us who have the experience of walking both sides of the line, simultaneously staff and survivor, bring support to each other and a unique and valuable perspective to our work."
